Best for: Rich, full-bodied coffee with more oils.
Grind: Coarse (like sea salt).
Rinse the French press with hot water, then dump it.
Add 30 g (5 Tbsp) coarse grounds to the empty press.
Pour hot water (just off boil) to cover the grounds (~60–80 g).
Stir gently and let sit for 30 seconds.
Add the rest of the water to your desired level (up to 500 g / ~17 oz).
Place the lid on with plunger up.
Let steep for 4 minutes.
After 4 minutes, press the plunger down slowly and evenly.
Pour out all the coffee into mugs or a carafe so it doesn’t over-extract and get bitter.
